Dear Parishioners, This weekend members of our parish Youth Group are heading to Steubenville East Youth Conference. The Steubenville Youth Conference is a yearly gathering of youth and young adults for a weekend. There will be great music, great talks pertinent to teenagers, Mass, Confession, a chance for kids to come together and see the beauty of our Catholic faith, and on Saturday evening a chance for Eucharistic adoration. I have been to several of these conferences in the past and so I am looking forward to sharing that experience with our own Youth Group. This year the conference takes place in Springfield Massachusetts. Thank you to all who helped support this trip. No doubt it will bear much fruit. Click the title to read more.
Dear Parishioners, I am a bit late reporting this in the bulletin because of the publishing schedule, but as many probably know, due to the heavy rains earlier in July, our church main hall, bathrooms and boiler room were flooded. Water came up through the men’s bathroom drain and rose to about an inch high off the ground. It was quite a mess. Fortunately, staff and volunteers sorted out the mess. A company called Enviroclean has been restoring the area and cleaning up the damage. It looks like we should be back to normal shortly. Click the title to read more.
Dear Parishioners, This weekend we welcome another priest to the parish: Fr. Jeremy from the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Once a year we have a chance to support missionary work throughout the world. This weekend we have a chance to support Fr. Jeremy and his congregation. You can find more about his work in this bulletin and also from what he tells us at each of the weekend Masses. Please welcome him, pray for his order’s work, and, if able, support that work through a financial contribution. Click the title to read more.
Dear Parishioners, This weekend we welcome our new associate pastor: Fr. Patrick Ryan. As I said last week we are blessed as a parish to have a newly ordained priest here for the summer. Of course, having just come from his courses he will no doubt be a great source of knowledge (more so than me who needed to be sent to summer school after all!). And coming from a community of regular and focused prayer he will have many spiritual insights born from his contemplation. Most importantly, a newly ordained priest is a sign to us from God that he continues to care for you and me by sending us shepherds. Please welcome Fr. Ryan to the parish.
