School is right around the corner. Our first day of school is next Wednesday, August 28th. All summer the faculty, staff, and volunteers of St. Teresa School have been hard at work getting the school ready. The classrooms on the second floor were all painted. New whiteboards and new cork boards replaced aging boards. Floors were polished and skylights cleaned. Curricula were revamped. We have several new teachers (including an additional Pre-K class). The list goes on! A very big thanks goes out to all who helped this summer (particularly in the grueling heat). Here at St. Teresa Parish, we are rightly proud of our school and religious education program, forming many of the next generation of Catholics, of scholars and statesmen, of priests and religious, of mothers and fathers, and please God of saints. They pass on the Good News that Jesus has come. He is the truth that sets free. Friendship with Him changes your life and promises Heaven. Catholic schools teach not simply the truths needed to get a job—although they do that without rival. But, more so, they teach the truth about God and about us, about how to live and how to love. They teach the truth in literature and science, in art and music, in mathematics and everywhere else. Education, wherever it happens, is a Catholic thing because all truth is God’s truth. Meanwhile our Scout troop have begun meeting again on Tuesday nights and our basketball program is accepting signups. We are also in the preliminary stages of planning our parish bazaar in the Fall. The date this year will be Saturday November 9th to Sunday November 10th. As you can tell we moved the date to November and omitted Friday. We hope that this will be a good change for vendors and visitors. Stay tuned for ways to volunteer and help. Please pray for families, students, faculty, and teachers as the new school year begins!
