Last weekend our school ran a fundraiser to help improve our school yard. Clothes, household goods, and bedding were all donated to raise money for this project. I am happy to say that we had a very good turnout. At the time of writing this we are still waiting for the final numbers. I wanted to thank everyone who participated.
Speaking of the school you may have noticed new wheels on the iron gates. Parishioners Dominic Pregoni and Christopher Sharples installed those last week to stabilize the gates and make it easier to open and close. In addition, another parishioner and our electrician, Paul Henderson, has been working to clean classroom vents (which involves going on the roof of the school), testing the school’s emergency lighting, and making sure that we are ready to start another school year. He did this work week during the heat wave! I want to thank them both for their hard work ensuring that we have another successful school year.
Our Sunday Solemn Sung Evening Prayer and Thursday Bible Study are going very well, but time is running out to attend of you have not yet made it. These programs come to an end when our summer Seminarian Joseph returns to seminary. His last weekend with us is August 13-14. If you can make it to at least one event you don’t want to miss out.
This Wednesday at 7:30pm we have our first Youth Group event: S’mores on the rectory lawn. We will have food, drinks, music, singing, and of course s’mores for kids. This will be a way to kick off our program and gather the youth. As Liz explained at the Masses, this is just the beginning of a weekly program set to kick off in the fall. Please tell others.
