Dear Parishioners, Our parish mission was a big success. Fr. Nathan Ricci gave an excellent series of talks on St. Joseph. In particular, he focused on Joseph’s three virtues: fortitude, humility, and chastity. I thank him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to help our parish this Lent.
Thank you as well to all those who helped organize and support our parish school by dining out at Chelos on Newport Avenue last Tuesday. Events such as those help local businesses and our parish in many ways.
Next weekend is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. This is the most important week for us as Catholics. I encourage parishioners to attend as many of the Holy Week liturgies as they can. I also ask for your prayers. We have several candidates and catechumens who will be receiving the Sacraments on Holy Saturday. May God bring to fulfillment and continue the good work he has begun in them.
Next weekend we will also host a Ministry Fair in the Church Hall. After each Mass on Palm Sunday weekend parishioners and visitors can visit the church hall and see all the various ministries of the parish arranged on tables. For instance, there will be tables set up displaying the ministries of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, Altar Servers and many more. There they can find out more information about the ministry and also consider signing up. Palm Sunday is usually a time when people come back to Mass and so what better time to highlight all of the ways people can get involved in the parish.
