During the weekend Masses of June 25th and 26th, St. Teresa Parish will have our Annual Mission Appeal Weekend. Every year we have a chance to support the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. We do so by supporting our missionary brothers, sisters, and priests. This year a member of the Xaverian Missionary Society of Mary will tell us about the good work of that order.
The Xaverian Missionary Society of Mary is an international Missionary Congregation founded in Parma, Italy, in 1945 by Rev. Giacomo M. Spagnolo, SX, and an American born laywoman, Miss Celestine Bottego.
The Xaverian Missionary Sisters live their vocation through their religious consecration by following Jesus Christ in chastity, poverty and obedience. They dedicate themselves to the service of God and humanity. All their activities are undertaken for the purpose of making the Good News available to non-Christian people, especially through pastoral, catechetical, educational, medical and social ministries. Currently they work in Italy, U.S.A., Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Cameroun, Chad, Japan, and Thailand.
Our second collection will go to support the work of these missionaries. Please pray for them, those who will hear the Gospel through them, and the success of the appeal.
