Mr. Andres Montoya, Administrator of the Warde-Robe sends his thanks to all at St. Teresa Parish for their donations. He writes: “We would like to thank all those at St. Teresa who participated in the toiletry drive. Toilettries are a major expense that many do not think about when giving donations. Through your generosity, we collected shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, and house cleaning items. Thanks to these donations, we are evolving into a place that can do more… Our success in the community for the past 25 years is thanks to people like you and the many volunteers and donors who are ready to help those in need.” I echo his thankfulness to everyone who participated in this drive.
You may have noticed small medals at two of the entrances to the church. They are called Miraculous Medals and are available for anyone to take. The medal displays an image of Mary and an inscription which reads: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” These medals come from a vision our Blessed Mother gave to St. Catherine Laboure in France. Today you can visit the chapel where she had her visions in Paris. There you will find the incorrupt bodies of St. Catherine and St. Vincent de Paul. Ever since those visions, and the billions of medals produced, many have received blessings through the intercession of Mary. These medals were donated by a family who wish to spread this devotion to others.
This past Wednesday the Year of St. Joseph ended. The quiet carpenter and the foster father of our Lord served as a guardian for us during this difficult year. We offer our thanks for his intercession, both known and unknown.
O Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most Loving of Fathers. Amen.
Finally, just a quick shot out to our parish school. You can discover all the many activities on the school’s Facebook page (facebook.com/stteresapawt/). From Santa’s Workshop to Christmas concerts; from Advent prayer services to food drives our school is doing many activities in addition to providing our students with a quality education. As a parish we support the good work that goes on there with the help of our wonderful faculty, staff, and parents. In this season of giving, having a school is a wonderful gift that enables us to prepare the next generation.
